Cass County's Same-Day Arrest Window
There is no searchable page on the county site that filters Cass County arrests to the last 24 or 48 hours. The nearest official source sits in the Cass County Sheriff's Office current-inmate section. It links to a dated "Inmate Roster - Booked and Released" PDF. Each report spans two adjacent dates. A print date stamps the sheet. For intake volume, the "Bookings during period" figure is the soundest measure inside that window.
The PDF is a snapshot, not a timer. Cass County promises no update hour, refresh interval, or maximum delay after booking. Ending population can include older bookings. A listed name therefore does not prove a same-day arrest, and a fresh booking may wait for the next report. Check the date fields before drawing conclusions.
Check Cass County Arrests Today
Start on the sheriff page rather than a saved link. The PDF filename changes with its date. No account, county search form, or public API exists. Use your browser's find function to search names in the viewer. Keep the report period in view. "Booked during the period" and "present in ending population" answer different questions.
- Open the sheriff page and locate “Cass County Jail/Current Inmates/PREA.”
- Follow the current inmate-list link, then note the report period and printed date.
- Use the viewer’s Find command for a surname. Check the booking date, release date, and charge lines.
- If the booking is too new, call the 24-hour jail line. For a wider range, consult the Cass County Arrest Log.
- Use the county arrest-record hub when a booking sheet, releasable photo, or disposition is needed.
The sheriff's Press Releases block is a second check. A release may name arrest dates. It can also note transport, booking, or release on bond. One release can span a week, though. Compare its date range with the PDF rather than merging counts.
Cass County Arrest Report Fields
The roster is built from text fields, not profile cards. Booking photographs do not appear. Charges sit beneath the main row, sometimes with a status or bond indicator. Each entry shows jail status at print time.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Date Booked In | Recorded jail intake date; compare it with the report period. |
| Date Released | A release event when populated, not the case outcome. |
| Cell | Jail assignment in that dated snapshot. |
| Inmate Name | Name used on the report; confirm identity with other fields. |
| ID Number and Age | Match details when names are similar. |
| Charge rows | Charges at booking, sometimes with status or bond notation. |
| Report totals | Bookings, releases, and beginning/ending population. |
A jail ID is not an Iowa DOC number. For a person later held in state prison or on supervision, use the Iowa Department of Corrections search. Federal and immigration detention belongs elsewhere, in federal locators.
Why Cass Arrest Dates Differ
The roster runs on several clocks. Booking date marks intake; release date marks a jail event. The reporting period says which activity was summarized, and the print date says when the snapshot was made. Ending population can pull in older bookings. That design blocks a pure arrests-today export while still aiding custody context.
A historical February 2025 roster remains reachable. Cass County posts no complete archive or retention promise. An old report is historical evidence only. The matching sheriff's office page shows the route to jail information.

The sheriff page remains the durable starting point as its current PDF link changes.
When Today's Arrest Is Missing
A missing name can mean several things. The next PDF may not be posted yet. The person may have been cited rather than booked. A quick release, a different spelling, or another agency's hold can also hide a name. Silence never proves no arrest occurred. Start with the sheriff PDF and the latest release, then call the jail for current status.
The Cass County VINELink Check explains the county's direct IowaVINE connection. VINE covers participating Iowa jails and state prisons. It can send release or transfer alerts. It is not a photo source or court-history database. For an agency report, county 911 routes requests to the department whose officer took it.

A narrow Iowa Chapter 22 request can seek a booking sheet, charge sheet, release record, or releasable photograph. Cass County posts no records fee schedule or response deadline. Ask for a written estimate.
Cass Arrest Information Without an App
The sheriff's office lists no jail app. No routine booking-photo feed exists either. Atlantic Police has media navigation, but its press-release category lists no current entries. Official information arrives through PDFs, sheriff narratives, the records office, and IowaVINE. A third-party app listing is not county publication.
Weekend and holiday timing is undocumented. A late Friday arrest may surface in a later PDF or a multi-day release. For a time-sensitive check, call the jail. Don't guess at a schedule Cass County has never promised.
Note: General county emergency alert systems are not booking notices; use IowaVINE for supported custody-change alerts.
Cass County Arrests and Court Results
A booking charge in Cass County is only the starting point of a case. The sheriff's roster tracks arrests and custody, not outcomes. Charges can change shape once prosecutors and judges get involved. For the real result, turn to Iowa Courts Online or the Cass County Clerk of Court. Both offer public access to case details. Keep in mind that a disposition is the court's recorded outcome, which is not the same as a bond notation, a release from jail, or a name vanishing from a later arrest roster.
